Which steps do we take?

The CorFiM&A team has vast experience in initiating and executing strategic and value-enhancing acquisitions for clients seeking to expand and develop.

Main steps

When initiating a deal, we:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of our client’s business objectives and acquisition strategy
  • Challenge these acquisition plans through lateral, creative thinking
  • Network within the sector to identify acquisition targets
  • Approach targets to find out if they are open to an offer
  • Build relationships with targets and pass these on to our clients

Then, we:

  • Provide our client and targets with pertinent summary information
  • Maintain strict confidentiality by signing off on the NDA/NCA
  • Arrange and attend initial meetings between our client and the target companies
  • Provide support throughout the transaction process
  • Prepare the due-diligence investigation
  • We outsource the legal work to a respected and competent professional corporate lawyer or to the client’s law firm
  • We work with buyer and seller to facilitate a successful deal
 
 

Ice-breaking service

We also offer ice-breaking services whereby we discreetly approach targets that our clients have identified.  This can help maintain confidentiality, arouse interest on the part of targets, and provide a helpful buffer in subsequent negotiations.

International deals

We have a track record of initiating and executing transactions in many countries, mostly but not exclusively in the BENELUX and Western Europe.
